Tribute for Mike Rinder and his fight

It is with great regret that UNADFI learned of the passing of Mike Rinder on January 5th, at the age of 69. A former leading figure in the Church of Scientology, he had become one of its fiercest opponents. We salute his courage, his perseverance, and extend our sincerest condolences to the loved ones who supported him in his fight.

Mike Rinder joined the Sea Organization, the elite group that ensures the functioning of the Church of Scientology, in 1973. A member of the board of directors, international spokesperson, and then head of the Office of Special Affairs, he ultimately left the ranks in 2007, denouncing a culture of violence and abuse. Since then, he has tirelessly warned about Scientology’s techniques of control and the dangers of this movement. Multiple attempts to destabilize him did not break his determination.

In a final message published on his blog before his death, Mike Rinder reiterated his concerns and called for continued efforts to fight against this insidious, well-organized force with colossal means.

UNADFI is waging the same battle in France. For over forty years, our associations have been carrying out important work in preventing and supporting victims of cult-like abuses. The path is sometimes difficult, our resources are modest, but despite all the suits, we will continue, in the name of all Mike Rinders we encounter, to defend and support these victims.
